Get to know Ishwa…
“I am a 14 years old and in 9th grade. I love to bake and read. My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving as I get to cook and Christmas as I always get Barnes and Nobles gift cards!”

Where is your home library and what do you love about it?
“My home library is the beautiful High Point Public Library. My favorite thing about my library is not actually the books but the people I have met and the librarians. The sense of community you feel and the friendliness and love for books by the librarians is like a fairy tale. The way the library works and people in them feel as if it only belongs in a fiction book. That amount of sheer perfection and sense of community is almost unimaginable. Unless you go there of course.”

Favorite Book?
“This is a really hard question. I don’t have a top favorite book. I just can’t choose. My favorite series consist of the Divergence series, Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, and the Hunger Games. One of my most recent favorite series is the Court of Thorns and Roses.”

What do you want legislators to know about libraries?
“I want them to know how much they are then just books. How many people they have helped through programs. How more people need to be aware of them. How they have helped me and how they can help others. How if libraries were more supported and lifted up that they can change so many student and adult lives. They can make and change a community.”
