Jeff, an older patron, goes to a Charlotte Mecklenburg Library to check out books on disc and Playaways for his wife. He says that it is such a blessing to be able to check out books on disc and Playaways because his wife loves to read but no longer can due to the loss of her eye sight; he checks out audio books so that she can listen to the stories she used to love reading. He said it is terrible when people talk about closing libraries and schools, because it is all that we have, and it shows a reflection of us. Libraries save us hundreds of dollars every year.
