My story is about a locally owned business in Bladen County with 20+ employees.
Timesheet info is due for payroll deadline by 5 PM and the internet provider of this business experienced an outage. Our local business payroll officer could not turn in timesheet info by the deadline for the next pay period from her internet connection.
The payroll officer had attended a recent Rotary meeting when the library director had the program. One of the library services the director stressed was wireless internet capability at all branches. (Fortunately, the library’s internet provider is not the same one used by the local business.)
The payroll officer came to the Bladen County Public Library to take advantage of wireless internet, sent in her information, and employees were paid ON TIME! She then called the County Manager to tell him the tale of her rescue by library services.
