Bob, the local landscaper for the “new” Ridgeview Branch (built in 1998) of the Hickory Public Library, was charged with determining how the grounds of the former library building were originally landscaped so he could replicate the original design. This was because at the time the former building that housed the Ridgeview Branch was slated to become the site of a museum for African American history.
Library staff helped Bob by finding a picture of opening day of the former branch library that showed original landscaping.
Although the project is still in progress, the library was a great help to Bob!
