Siddharth_photoStudent Library Ambassador Essay
“As Vice President of my library’s Teen Advisory Board, I consider it my duty to not only commit myself to serve the library but bring positive changes in my community. We can tackle these problems by boosting morale, building self-confidence and courage within our people. This is just one of the ways why our local libraries are so important for our lives and our future.”

“My name is Siddharth Samal. I attend Lake Norman High School in Mooresville, North Carolina. As I start my fourth and final year and finish my journey through high school, I cannot help but reflect on the amazing past years. I have been a member and leader of Student Council, National Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta at school and Vice President of the Teen Advisory Board at the Mooresville Public Library. I have spent hours planning, organizing and attending service events with other fellow board members for my community. I have spent quite a few afternoons shelving books at the library. Some may find it tedious, but to me it is a simple way to relax, to be alone with my mind and the stories I have read. In school, I love math, everything from algebra to calculus. I also love to listen to all kinds of music. I look up to my Mom and Dad, and love my friends. Together, music, books, and family, make me the person I am today. I have enjoyed being a part of these clubs. In the future, I will continue to seize every opportunity and adventure to improve and strengthen myself and help others with compassion.”
