Alizdair Sebastien Ray – NC Congressional District 7 | View Essay
“Because of early reading skills, I started writing for a children’s newspaper at 6 years old. I’m still a contributing writer and it’s 2014. Also, I started debating last year and really had a great time with it.”

Alizdair is from Hope Mills, North Carolina and is a 5th grade home school student. His excellent essay talks about how he began learning how to read at an early age and how much of a positive impact this has had on him.
More About Alizdair:
What inspired my submission? My parents encouraged me to submit and I love the library. My favorite saying is that it is a second home to me. I would not had gained the love of it, if my parents didn’t feel strongly about reading and visiting the library.

-Sept 2013- Cumberland County Fair ( Awarded 8 (1st place blue ribbons) & 3 (2nd place red ribbons)
-Oct 2013- NC State Fair ( 1st place in Essay Competition) Theme for the Essay: If I can work at a fair, what job will I do and why?
-Nov 2013- Appeared as a student kid in New Hit Fox show ( Sleepy Hollow). It aired on Nov.11, 2013. It was episode 7: The Midnight Ride.
-Dec 2013- Cast as Mark in the Christmas play ( Midnight Miracle) @ Hope Mills United Methodist Church
Hobbies: sports, reading, and playing video games
Future Goals: I want to be a professional soccer player and go into politics.
