On Friday, March 6th, Members of the NCLA Advocacy and Legislative Committee presented at the North Carolina Community College Library Association’s annual conference in Smithfield, NC. The topic was Community College Libraries, Librarians, and Student Success. We reviewed a study done in 2015 about the ways community college libraries and their librarians affect student success. The results showed that students and faculty overwhelmingly felt libraries and librarians played a big factor in the success of the students. You can see the results and the study on our website here. NCLA Interns, Martha McGehee and Kim Griffin, both MLIS students from UNC Greensboro, presented as part of the group.
